WT is so petty, they regularly ship things.... they were driving to Oregon ANYway, right?
So sad.... What about all those flights to other countries that the GB take? They are "just like the rest of us", right? How about in the good ol' days when the colporteur’s rode bicycles, and Rutherford drove around in Cadillacs and partied in Mansions?
( col·por·teur ˈkälˌpôrtər,ˌkälpôrˈ noun a peddler of books, newspapers, and similar literature. Someone employed by a religious society to distribute Bibles and other religious tracts.) (Learn something new every day, hmm? They were just people "hired" to distribute things the WT published!)
Audacious is the best word I can think of!

Hey Max, YAY! You didn’t give a cent! Pretty sad when they have to keep pointing out the “Contribution Boxes”… Yikes!
I hated it at conventions (when we got the new big bible five years ago) “Yes, we have free labor, reduced costs, but still donate as much money as you would pay for a Bible in a book shop! ($70? $80?)
Haha, not me~! Otherwise, what is the point of having ‘free labor’ and ‘contributions’ for everything else in the world! Cha Ching, Cha Ching! No more of my Bling!
Campaign of hate… Yep, it was a while ago for him, I now know… but maybe it’s his therapy? Or maybe it’s a way for him to ‘give back’ to those who might want to know the way it really is?
I always wonder what I can say to someone that will help them face reality, and maybe get a part of their life back… If no one tells, no one knows, right?
I went to on a Bethel tour, got tired of all the walking, sat down behind a wall, and basically got told “Hey sister, if you can’t keep up with the rest of us, you can go downstairs and wait” Not the most welcoming place…
I also ran into someone I met on an Assembly Hall build… He volunteered after completion to work in NY…. I found him, said, “Hi! Howz it going?” (like, wow! are you having a great time!?") The look on his face… I think he discovered what Max did… Reality… I’ll bet he has some stories!
Thx life is to short , I appreciate your validation, and I’ll bet Marcus and his sister do too! The WT is very petty to ask back what they have not given…. Reminds me of that story they use to tell us… you know… the one about the king settling accounts with the slave that owed 60,000,000 denarii… the king CANCELLED his debt! That’s sixty million whatevers… So what does this 'no good' do? Hmmmmm…. Sounds like the WT (who gets millions and millions a year?) He goes and tries to collect $2 for cough medicine? a pen? toilet paper? mmmm..... Hmm?
The WT would “throw you in prison” if they could… just like the ungrateful slave above who tried to get only 100 d's back… But, in the story, ‘the king heard about it, called him wicked! and put him in prison until he could pay his 60 mil back….
Maybe, one day, the WT will have to pay us all back! Ahhhhh, what a dream, eh?

How much damage has internet done against the The Watchtower Society ?
by opusdei1972 inin the beginning of internet the society was worried about the information published exposing its falsehood.
so, i wonder how many people lost the society on account of forums and web sites like this.

I think the internet has been a great support system.
It's really that the Watchtower has done the harm to people, and because of that, the broken ones turn to the internet to be able to figure things out, to have a hearing, compassionate and understanding ear... Quite the opposite of of the Borg. It is their cold-heartedness that will kill them, I believe.
Knowledge is freedom. Truth is truth.

Hi Brokeback, yep, the WT, Jehovah & Jesus have a hard time fitting all together... It makes it hard to think right when there are all these contradictions. -

I understand, Tornintwo.... it totally helps to vent...it all seems so unreal, but REAL.... I use to focus on "This has to be God's organization because we see "the love among themselves"... the "Worldwide brotherhood"..... Only when we actually see behind the curtain do we know who really is there.
Glad you are here, this is a great place! Keep venting! ;-)

TorninTwoI hope that you and your husband do not try to "live up to the standards" of these pious elders. Do not try to appease them, they will only suck the life out of your soul, and for what?
Reading many court cases that involve the WT & abuse cases, I see that there really is no justice... as one lawyer said, "there is just us."
The GB, the Borg, have trained the borganization, in the most part, to be just like them.... Rules are rules, money is money, who cares what happened to you.... Oh, and don't tell anyone about it or we'll DF you, you'll lose your family, kids, friends... maybe even your job.
They are very cold hearted. This happens everywhere, over and over. I've read of very sincere brothers travelling miles, spending all of their earnings to see the GB, to discuss in person the troubles they have had with things they've read. Do not be fooled. They do not care.
The best thing to happen to you and your children is to have your husband back, to have a family, create memories, live. Your 16 year old is way more important than them, invest your time with him. Once you & hubby are 'off the hamster wheel', you will be able to think, breathe, relax! Go on vacation with no guilt!
Let the ones who make the burdens have the burdens, and escape!
Hugs, Cha Ching
